Whole Brain Posture

a process developed by Paul Dennison as part of his Edu-K & Brain Gym and used in Resonance Repatterning® and PSYCH-KTM

The benefit: As well as helping to shift beliefs, thought patterns and frequencies, this process is great for calming your system down.  Any time you're feeling frazzled or out of sorts, you can run through these four 'poses' to help calm your system.

If you know how to dowse or muscle check, you can also check which pose to do.  If you want to try changing some things on your own, you can add in a statement to say while in the pose.  In a session, all of the checking would be done for you.

The technique: 

  • get comfy in your chair or wherever you are so that you feel support
  • 'First' Position: 
    • cross your left ankle over your right, and your left wrist over your right
    • interlace your fingers.
    • close your eyes.
    • if you want, you can say to yourself something along the lines of 'I am calm and relaxed.'   you will hear a bunch of chatter in your brain about how that isn't true, which is ok.  allow your brain to say what it wants to say while you keep saying 'I am clam and relaxed' (or whatever you chose to say.)  As you say your sentence, it tells your brain to find the resources to make it so, even given the objections.
    • You will, at some point, 'know' that something has shifted.  I have seen one person take up to 45 minutes.  It can also take as little as 3 or 4 minutes.
  • 'Second' Position: 
    • leave your left ankle crossed over your right, and switch your right wrist over your left.  
    • interlace your fingers.
    • close your eyes
    • if you have a statement, repeat it until ...
    • at some point, 'know' that something has shifted.   
  • 'Third' Position:  
    •  cross your right ankle over your left, and leave your wrists alone.  (right over left)
    • interlace your fingers
    • close your eyes
    • if you have a statement, repeat it until ...
    • at some point, 'know' that something has shifted.   
  • 'Fourth' Position:
    • leave your ankles with your right ankle over your left, and switch your left wrist over your right.  
    • interlace your fingers.
    • close your eyes.
    • if you have a statement, repeat it until ...
    • at some point, 'know' that something has shifted.   
  • unfold everything and, with eyes open, place your feet flat on the floor and touch your finger tips together.  Hold for a minute or so.

In a session this would be a lot shorter as I could tailor which position and which statement to use, but often this will help anyway.

Personal Note:  when I first tried this, I felt nothing.  Nothing!  I thought it was a bit of one of those 'drink the cool-aid' things.  Over time, though, I've noticed that this has a positive, real effect.  When I go into this position, it's like my body remembers that this is the place where I can be relaxed.
