Books to Explain the Human Energy Field

Very often I am asked, 'How does this energy stuff all work?'

Well -- before I answer that, let me quote this about gravity: "The mystery of gravity's pull is pretty much intact."  And about the earht's magnetic field: "The Earth's magnetic field is thought to be produced by convection currents in the outer liquid of Earth's core." Which is to say, with both of these energies which we are familiar with and take for granted, we have no explanation of their workings. We observe it works, and that's all we've got! And we don't debate whether or not they work. We have equations to describe what's going on and plenty of theories and yet, when it comes down to it, we have no reason for these things to be working. Yet we know they do.

With the human energy field, what information exists is not very available. When I tried doing searches, I got into bio-medical sites requiring I pay for admission -- I think these sites are research sites for students and doctors. In The Biology of Transcendence: A Blueprint of the Human Spirit there is a picture of the field generated by the heart. In Energy Medicine, the Scientific Basis Steve Oschman explains some of the mechanics. Here's what sticks in my brain: As a result of the opposing flow of blood in the viens and arteries, which is basically opposing currents flowing, a magnetic field is generated. This field has a positive and negative pole which then creates a torus (doughnut) shaped field similar to the one surrounding earth. The strength of the field weakens the farther from the body, yet it never stops. Due to the shape of the field, any point within the field from any other point within the field.

You may notice, there's still no explanation of how things work. What we have, just like for the gravity and magnitic field of earth, is description of what we can observe.

From a practical sense, it works.

To get comfortable with this idea, there's a movie and a few books out on the market which you may find interesting.

  1. What the Bleep Do We Know!?    a movie worthy of any PBS station starring Marlee Matlin and featuring many noted physicists, philosophers, and other thinkers of our time that visually presents the concept that our beliefs govern the reality we experience.
  2. The Holographic Universe  - by Michael Talbot; discusses many of the phenomenon known to science for several decades supporting the notion that it is possible to have accurate access to vast realms of knowledge and awareness beyond what would 'make sense.'
  3. The Field  -The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe by Lynne McTaggart has even more recent a-ha's from the scientific world
  4. Energy Medicine, the Scientific Basis by James Oschman  Provides fascinating historical perspective along with current information about the energy field generated by the flow of blood in the body and its relationship to scalar waves.  This is very thorough, solid, sometimes heavy going.  If you really want to understand, study here!
  5. The Biology Of Belief: Unleashing The Power Of Consciousness, Matter And Miracles by Bruce Lipton.  Discusses some of the mechanics of how our beliefs effect our chemistry and how that affects the physiology we create to interact with our environment.
  6. Molecules of Emotion by Candice Pert - the break through work that connected specific emotions with specific bio-chemical processes

If you want to read about this in a more relaxed manner, here's some fiction books!

  1. Illusions : The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah -- by Richard Bach Paperback  A lovely little parable of discovering the possibilities of co-creating life.   Buy new: $6.75 -- Used & new from: $0.99
  2. Messiah's Handbook: Reminders for the Advanced Soul  -- by Richard Bach -- for fun!
  3. One   & The Bridge Across Forever : A Love story  by Richard Bach   - further explorations into how we create our own realities.
  4. Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein  OK! talk about a time warp!  Here's this concept from 1962 that it's possible to create reality from our beliefs.
