CO2 Stabilizing Breath -

a process from the vast array of modalities used by Resonance Repatterning.

The benefit: Carbon dioxide is our natural tranquillizer.  The research and clinical practice of Professor Buteyko and his colleagues since the late 50's indicates that most of us are doing too much breathing and are, in practice, breathing out too much carbon dioxide. Ironically, if we get rid of too much carbon dioxide we actually absorb less oxygen - so all of our deep breathing to oxygenate our system is in vain. This is because of a scientific principle called the Bohr Effect.

This technique helps with outright hyperventilation and with hidden hyperventilation - the usual, fight-flight breathing we habitually use in modernized societies.

Using this technique is a way of both oxygenating our system and tapping into our natural relaxation response.

The technique:

  • get comfy in your chair or wherever you are so that you feel support
  • breath shallowly and rhythmically, neither exhaling nor inhaling excessively.
  • breath out and hold the breath for a little longer than normal, whatever is totally comfortable.
  • breath in.  if you end up gasping, you held your breath out for too long!

What benefits have you noticed?

Books & Links

These sites have some interesting things.

Here's some of my favorites!

Books

I love books! These top three books help explain some about Resonance Repatterning® and PSYCH-KTM.  I have reviews of and comments about more books with links into Amazon in my original 'Bookstore' as well as a bigger but less verbose Amazon eStore.  Whenever I do online group Resonance Repatterning® series, I include books I've referenced in the resources sections for that series.

Thank you for your purchases through the Satori Center Associates Store!
