Horses lend us the wings we lack.

Forward
irimi

Forward, rather than fast, is the ability to harness the full potential of the horse and fully commit to an action moving into future time and space.

There are three elements to this --

  • me, connected in integrity via my center
  • the future point in time and space
  • and the intention of direct connection, of activity moving towards that future point in time and space.

In riding, one never really arrives at this place and time, because it is always in the future.  This is where the forward comes from.  The trick is to bring one's full self (and your horse!) in the present forward.

Play with it!

PS - Yes!  This is it the barebones of it!  That first little bullet is short hand for a lifetime of learning.  There is a relationship between the center and the future point that is also a whole 'nother lifetime of learning.  And of course there's this whole concept of time and space!
Sorting things out for yourself comes first and then you can include a partner.
These concepts are used in relational riding as I teach it.

"The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities."

~ James Allen
