Steam Engine Breath 

- a process from the vast array of modalities used by Resonance Repatterning.

The benefit: It has been shown that the brain functions better with oxygen, and that the side of the nose your breath with affects the amount of oxygen that gets to that side of your brain!  With the Steam Engine breath, you are oxygenating both sides of your brain.

The right and left nostrils also act as thermostat for your body temperature and energy. Breathing through the left nostril is cooling and mind expanding. The right nostril draws in vitality and energy and brings about a state of mental alertness.

The technique: 

• with eyes open,
• hold one nostril shut (with either the thumb or forefinger) and through the open nostril
  • exhale then
  • inhale
• switch which nostril is open by switching your finger  and through the open nostril
  • exhale then
  • inhale
• start out slowly then get quicker and quicker, then reverse and get slower and slower
• when exhaling, forcefully squeeze your stomach in.
