To Change or Not To Change

The ties that hold us back

So yesterday I discovered something profound.  It really made a big difference in the outcome of what I was doing, and I was delighted with how such a small change could have such a profound positive impact.

And I was 'over the moon!'

For all of ... ten minutes?!

Right behind the delight came a flood of remorse and sadness!  How many years had this simple thing eluded me?  How many years had there been toil and effort and things that weren't working?!  How long had I been doing the wrong thing?  Fervently striving for what I thought was the right thing?  That wasn't working so obviously wasn't the right thing but I was doing everything I knew to do....

Grief.

How much damage had been done?  Could it be undone?  Could I forgive myself?

And then a decision.

I've seen many people at this cross-roads, and I've been here before myself.

Option (A) - continue doing what I was doing before.  Avoid the grief, stuff my new knowledge into the recesses of my mind and deny I knew better.

Option (B) - honor the grief, forgive myself, and adopt the new approach.

Which will it be?

Looking at it on paper, the answer is easy: (B)!

But in real life, not so much.  I have seen people skirt away from the grief, thinking it's too deep.  I have seen people turn away from the self-forgiveness, unable to reconcile what they've done with what they'd hoped they'd done.  And sometimes I've just been a little too whupped myself to do it.  It's a little like jumping into the pool when it's cold.  You know it won't matter in a few minutes, but right now ... not looking so enticing.   Just gotta brace myself, but .... let me just stand here on the side for a minute!

I also know, standing on the edge, even though it's not always entirely easy, it's worth it.

Not only do I  get to live life better, letting go of grief and frustration and adopting an easier way to do something, but I've exercised my  ability to accept myself and my emotions - a life enhancing process I can use in other circumstances to solve other problems.
So it's not really a decision for me, but I get why others stay with option (A).  I may take a moment, may brace myself for impact, collect myself and get ready, but I know it's going to happen.

When I'm in this boat, a favorite approach for me is Focusing.  A similar approach is The Sedona Method.  And Tapping is always helpful!  Another thing that's quick is Reiki.  For the really big stuff, Resonance Repatterning.

And to be honest, this is what I do.

I facilitate change -- I help folks find the quickest way to get the best change that works for them, and I do this for me all the time.

Option (B) it is.  It just took a moment to get ready and now I'm set.

Books

I love books! These top three books help explain some about Resonance Repatterning® and PSYCH-KTM.  I have reviews of and comments about more books with links into Amazon in my original 'Bookstore' as well as a bigger but less verbose Amazon eStore.  Whenever I do online group Resonance Repatterning® series, I include books I've referenced in the resources sections for that series.
